Frequently Asked Questions
I've seen your testimonials,
but can I speak with any former clients?
Absolutely. Although many clients wish to keep their
relationships with me completely private, some are very happy to talk
with you about their experiences with Law School Genius.
What is your confidentiality policy?
I maintain a standard of complete confidentiality. I will not disclose the fact that you are my client—or anything about your applications—to anyone. In the event that you give me permission to consult with an outside expert on a matter regarding your application, your identity will be kept private.
When I work with Law School Genius,
do I work with Ezra Goldschlager directly?
Yes,
you work with me (Ezra) and only me. Other admissions
consulting firms seem to have a different philosophy, but I believe you
get the most benefit when your file is handled by one and only one
consultant from beginning to end. This does not mean that
when you and I reach a very difficult issue, we don't have additional
resources: Occasionally and with your
permission, I am able to ask other Yale Law School alumni (who are
brilliant, and very knowledgeable about the admissions process) for
their perspectives on highly-specific matters.
When I work with you, how do we get
things done?
We
will collaborate over the phone, email, and using the LSG secure
on-line document management system. The system lets us share
documents, exchange drafts, and even work on the same draft at the
same time, viewing each other's changes in real-time.
The exact nature of our collaboration always depends on how
you
feel most comfortable, but rest assured that we have many options and
things will work very efficiently.
If my first-choice school is not
a top law school, should I still work with you?
I can
improve your chances of admission at any
law school in the United
States. Many of my clients are aiming for the highest-ranked
law
schools. But even if you are in a situation where the odds are
against
your getting into any ABA-accredited law
school, get
a no-cost, obligation-free consultation and let's talk about
how I can help you.
Can I work with you in person?
If
you're in New York, we can certainly work together in person.
If
you're in Los Angeles, I can work with you in person and the only
additional charge is reimbursement for round-trip airfare (I don't fly
first class, I promise).
Can you help me prepare for the
LSAT?
No, and yes. I do not offer LSAT tutoring. I can,
however, recommend an extremely effective LSAT preparation course (with
which I have no affiliation). And if for any reason you don't
want to or can't take an LSAT prep course, I can tell you what books to
buy and give you advice on general strategies related to preparation.
I can give you all of this information during a no-cost,
obligation-free telephone consultation.
What is your rate of compensation?
You
can choose an hourly rate, or a flat-rate package. Most of my
clients choose a customized flat-rate package, which gives them
everything they need and nothing they don't. The flat-rate
option
is more affordable for people who want more than a small
amount (e.g., 1 hour or so) of general advice. The hourly
rate is $977 per hour. Contact
me if you would like to talk about a
flat-rate package.
Can you help me (or my son or daughter) get
into college, business school, medical school, or any other school?
Maybe. I can guarantee that I won't take you on as a
client unless I know I can help you. Please contact me to discuss the
possibility of working with me on applications unrelated to law school.
