Law School Genius testimonials

Ezra took all of the stress out of the law school application process.  He was available at every hour and answered any question I had, no matter how big or small.  He went above and beyond the call of duty to help me, working with me and my essays over both weekends and weeknights with an extremely fast turnover rate.  Because of his advice, I became a much more competitive applicant.  Ezra helped me with a total of 6 essays and gave me invaluable advice about the best way to present myself.  This is honestly the best money I have ever spent. W.L., Boston, Massachusetts

[Update: Since writing this testimonial, W.L. was accepted by her "dream school."  Congratulations!]
[Update 2: Even better news! Beyond her wildest dreams, W.L. was recently accepted by a top-5 law school. She had considered this school well out of reach before working with me. WAY TO GO W.L.!]

Ezra is quite right; he is a law school admissions genius. He got me into every top school in the country, from number one to five.  At first, I wasn't sure if Ezra was right for me. I didn't know how a person who had graduated from law school not too long ago would be better than someone who served on an admissions committee for years, yet Ezra IS infinitely better.  He is brilliant in general, and in law school admissions in particular, and more importantly, he is very creative.  I actually paid for an hour with someone who served as an admissions officer at a top five law school before I hired Ezra.  That other counselor's advice was professional, yet conventional.  I knew that would not cut it for the top schools, who had plenty of people with better numbers than mine.

When I spoke to Ezra, I knew that his advice would be tailored specifically to my background. He spent time interviewing me, understanding my personal and intellectual background and making sure that my application reflected that in a way that appealed to admissions committees and would be very persuasive.  Ezra responded to me very quickly on every request, anything from a new draft of my essay to what to do if my dean's certificate got lost in the mail.

He was responsible for the structure of my essay.  It would have been garbage without him. When it came to my Yale 250-word essay, Ezra was gentle, but appropriately critical. With his advice, I wrote and re-wrote the 250-word essay until it was in top shape.  He didn't flatter me to make less work for himself and I really appreciated that (given that I had paid a flat rate).

I cannot stress enough how vital Ezra's help was in my admission and how much I felt that he was behind me.  I am positive that I would not have done it alone. I'm not even sure I would have had the confidence to apply to some of the schools I applied to, without him. Believe me, this is not hyperbole, this is true.  I could really feel that he deeply cared about the integrity of his work and the quality of his advice.

The wait for my results was excruciating, but it helped, during those very long months, to be confident that my materials were the best that they could be. Given that you will pay nearly two hundred thousand dollars for a law school education, and that the prestige of your school is directly correlated to the number and quality of career options you have open to you, be it human rights law, nonprofit work or a corporate law at whiteshoe firm, Ezra is more than worth his fee. I wish I wasn't a student so I could pay him more.

He is also a pleasure to work with, really loves his husky, and has a killer sense of humor.  He is, however, not as clean-shaven as on the website picture (hmm Facebook), the only part of his advertisement that is not entirely accurate. - Initials withheld at client's request
[Thanks for your kind words.  I hope you have a wonderful experience at Yale!]

I decided to apply to law school in December 2007.  After seeing ads for Law School Genius, I decided to schedule my free consultation.  I knew immediately that Ezra was the right counselor for me. He was extremely enthusiastic and honest.

With Ezra's help, I managed to put together a very powerful and persuasive application for each school.  Even with a sub-standard LSAT score and applications that were submitted right at the deadline, I received good news upon good news.

Ezra was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also wonderfully supportive in every facet of the application process.  His perspective and experience made him indispensable.  He was like a super smart, talented guardian angel—my "secret weapon," if you will.

After retaking the LSAT in June, Ezra proved that he was worth every penny once again.  I had a rejection overturned!  This is pretty much unheard of.  In truth, it wouldn't have happened without his guidance.  All in all, Ezra yielded me 10 acceptances, and one still pending—and I filed 12 applications.  If my brother, sister, or cousins decide to go to law school, I will insist that the first call they make is to Law School Genius!      Although a lawyer myself, when my son asked for help with his law school applications I reached out for an expert who was the best in the field.  We truly lucked out when we found Ezra who managed not only the mechanics of the process but also coached my son through the emotions of painting a picture of his true essence and unique potential. - Roger Gladstone, Florida

[Update: Just a few weeks after transmitting his application to his first-choice law school, Roger's son received an e-mail notifying him that he had been accepted!  Congratulations, and best of luck while you pursue your degree at your #1 choice!]

I decided to hire a law school admissions consultant because I was struggling to get started putting together admissions materials I could be confident submitting.  I had fumbled in the dark for a while and was starting to get nervous.

When I first began looking for a consultant, I was looking for someone to guide me through the whole process, to help me get started, to give me ideas when drawing blanks, and to give me the final thumbs up on every final draft.

When I found Ezra's website, I got excited.  I thought "I want to go to a top law school, Ezra went to Yale; I want to work at a white shoe Wall Street law firm, Ezra worked at Simpson Thacher."  To me his background screamed 'I am highly intelligent, I am capable, I have wide and varied life experiences to draw on, and I want to help you accomplish your goals!'  It seemed that hiring Ezra would be the perfect solution to my problem.

Unfortunately, I first chose to work with another consultant.  I was attracted by the fact that this person had worked in a law school admissions office, and had first-hand experience making admissions decisions.  My thinking was that this factor trumped all others.  The experience with my original hire did not last long.  I lost confidence quickly.  I felt I was hardly better off than I had been before.  I needed someone with better judgment, and someone more responsive to my unique needs.  Being a firm believer in the concept of the sunk cost, I moved on.

I sent Ezra a frantic midnight email explaining my situation and urgent need for help.  He responded early the next morning, and we arranged an afternoon consultation.  During the consultation I was impressed by his thorough evaluation of my materials, and I knew that his positive attitude would later prove an asset.  Towards the end of the conversation, I was confident signing on to work with him.

It is difficult to explain how happy I have been with my decision to hire Ezra!  He has far surpassed my expectations—and careful readers will note that I am a discerning customer.  Through his situation-specific brainstorming methods, he helped me author a Personal Statement I am proud of—I mean seriously, I want to show it to everyone!  He helped me overhaul my resume; through professional restructuring and rephrasing, it now more effectively represents my qualifications.  And, thanks to Ezra, I am just as proud of my short answer responses and addenda as I am of my Personal Statement.

Believe me; Ezra knows what admissions readers are looking for.  And, in light of his well honed skills—writing, editing, critical thinking, etc.—he is superiorly able to implement that knowledge while helping you put your best foot forward.  My experience with the previous consultant was a painful lesson that simply understanding what admissions committees want to see in an application is far from sufficient—you need to work with someone who has the abilities necessary to really work magic with that understanding.

On his website, Ezra promises to become your "trusted partner" as you prepare admissions materials—a lofty claim indeed.  In my experience, he has lived up to this claim.  He has served as invaluable support for me throughout every step of the process.  He has responded quickly and thoughtfully to every question, large and small.  I could have applied to law school alone, or with mediocre guidance from my previous consultant, but choosing either of those options would have been a mistake.  If you are looking to submit a world-class admissions package, I highly recommend you become partners with this shockingly talented Yale grad!    - M.T., Tampa, Florida
[Update:  On a recent afternoon, M.T.'s phone rang.  He was very pleasantly surprised to receive an offer of admission from an extremely competitive school which he had written off as out of reach, before working with Law School Genius.  M.T.: Congratulations, and I wish you nothing but the best in law school and in your career. ]

I would recommend Ezra's services to anyone applying to law school—he helped transform my applications into their most polished selves and consistently gave me large amounts of his personal time.  He walked me through various issues and problems as they arose and simplified the entire process for me immensely.  Ezra's services were beyond helpful and I am confident that I submitted my best possible representations to the law schools.

Thank you so much—I genuinely appreciate all of the time, effort, and hard work you have put in with me! F.R.,  Washington, D.C.

Ezra, I want to thank you so much for all the effort and dedication you put into my personal statement and addendums.  The process was extremely overwhelming and your expertise and professionalism put my mind at ease.  I would highly recommend you to anyone who needs help to create a well-written, quality personal statement.  You gave me your undivided attention, answered any questions I had, and researched my background so you knew exactly what to put on my addendums and for that I am truly grateful.  You were also very prompt at getting back to me and aware of my deadlines.  I was very happy with the end results and wouldn't change a thing.  Now I can send off my applications with confidence; it was worth every penny!      I have been an educator for over thirty years.  I began as a teacher, became a principal, and then served as a superintendent of a large school system for over ten years.  I have spent a great deal of time developing my skills and preparing myself to achieve excellence in my profession, and have been recognized as a national leader in my field.  I recently made the decision to change professions and pursue my life-long dream of becoming an attorney.  Nothing in my experience quite prepared me for navigating the process of applying to law school.  I discovered first hand what many others have: The law school application process can be overwhelming and rife with uncertainty.

It is very rare that I recommend or endorse a business.  Law School Genius will be an exception.  Ezra patiently walked me through the difficult steps necessary for creating a stellar personal statement, and his expertise was evident as he swiftly and effectively answered questions on all aspects of the admissions process.  His rate was more than fair considering the value he provided, and his friendly demeanor was calming and refreshing.

Ezra was really a God-send.  I highly recommend his services to anyone who seeks a competitive edge in the application process.
Thanks Ezra for all of your help. H.B., Durham, North Carolina

Ezra provided simply outstanding assistance on my transfer application.  His advice was simply stellar.  From extremely perceptive tactical advice (sentence placement in essays) to thoughtul strategic advice (which law schools best fit your long term goals), Ezra displays his mastery of the admissions process.  Better yet, he masters the "story" behind his every client.  Best of all, his assistance pays enormous dividends.  With Ezra's help, I've been admitted to Yale Law School.  What a gift! - G.B., Washington, D.C.
